European Trademark Registrations & Brexit
Since Brexit the United Kingdom is no longer included in a European trademark registration. As from January 1st 2021 EU trademarks are therefore no longer valid in the United Kingdom. On that date the UK parts of all EU trademark registrations were automatically cloned to identical UK trademark registrations without any action to be taken by the trademark owners.

European & UK Trademark Renewals
European trademark registrations can be renewed every 10 years, the first renewal taking place in the 6 months before the 10th anniversary of the application date. Before Brexit a EU trademark registration renewal would include the UK. However after Brexit that is no longer the case and both the EU registrations and cloned UK registrations have to be renewed separately.

Free UK Trademark Registration Renewals
Since Brexit we also handle United Kingdom trademark registration renewals next to European trademark registration renewals. If you let us handle your European renewal, we have a special offer to handle your United Kingdom renewal for free, which means you only pay the official UK renewal fees. There will be no additional attorney fees for the UK part of the package.
